Course Description

German history and politics from 1918 to the present, employing Berlin as the focal point for significant developments. The interwar republic and the rise of the Nazis; the Third Reich; postwar occupation and Cold War division; political systems and society in East and West Germany; Berlin as capital of a reunified Germany in an increasingly integrated Europe. Culminates in a week-long study tour in Berlin during spring break. Cross Listed with PO 3250. Prerequisite: EN 125 or EN 1250 or equivalent.
